Elect Cade Foster

as Your Next County Attorney of McCracken County

What is the Role of the County Attorney in Kentucky?

The office of County Attorney was first made a constitutional office under the Kentucky Constitution of 1850 in Article VI, Section 1, and the present constitution requires the election of a County Attorney in each county for a term of four years.  The duties of the County Attorney are prescribed in detail by Kentucky Statute, but they generally revolve around two main responsibilities:

Prosecute all violations of criminal and penal law within the District Court’s jurisdiction, and

Serve as legal counsel to the county government and institute or defend civil actions in which the county is a party.

Who is Cade Foster?

In 2016, Cade and his wife, Callie, chose to make Paducah their home.  Cade is originally from Texas and Callie is from Paducah; they met while attending the University of Alabama.  The Fosters have two children: a daughter, Charlie (age four), and son, Ford (age one).

The Fosters attend First Baptist Church Paducah, where Cade serves as a Deacon.  Like many residents of McCracken County, Cade is community minded.  He serves as Board Chair-Elect for the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club, is a graduate of Leadership Paducah, and serves on the Paducah Chamber of Commerce’s Business Advocacy board.

Cade works at Jim Smith Contracting as In-house Legal Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.  He also worked as an assistant Commonwealth Attorney where he prosecuted felony cases in McCracken County Circuit Court.

During college, Cade played football for the Crimson Tide under head coach Nick Saban.  He played on two National Championship teams, served on Coach Saban’s Leadership Council, and won several on and off the field awards.  Cade attended law school at the University of Alabama and graduated with honors.

Cade is a member of the Republican party and believes that the value of the family and the rule of law are crucial for the continued success of the United States of America.  As County Attorney, Cade would impartially represent the County and all of its residents, regardless of party affiliation.

My family and I are grateful to call McCracken County our home.  Our county is a beautiful place with great companies to work for, churches to worship at, and schools for our children to attend.  We also have many friendly and welcoming residents.  I thank God for this community, however, being thankful is not enough.

It is time for me to give back to the community that has given so much to me.
